Hi, I’m Louise Chapman, MA, LPC, NCC

Therapist & Founder, Open Skies Therapy

Personal Philosophy.

My philosophy is simple: therapy should feel both safe and effective. At Open Skies Therapy, I combine evidence-based practices with creative and nature-based approaches to help clients of all ages build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move through life’s challenges with support. Inspired by the openness of the skies, I strive to create spaces that invite honesty, connection, and the freedom to grow.

Clinical Experience & Approach

I hold a Master of Arts in Human Development and Counseling from The George Washington University and am licensed in both Virginia and Colorado. My training includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Expressive Therapy interventions.

I’ve worked in schools, hospitals, community health, and private practice, supporting children, teens, adults, and families with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, self esteem concerns, grief, and life transitions.

My approach is holistic and integrative:

• Children & Teens: Play therapy, expressive arts, and nature-based activities to support emotional growth, manage behavior challenges, and build healthy self-esteem.

• Adults: DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed tools to reduce distress, foster resilience, and strengthen coping skills.

• Families: Collaborative sessions to improve communication, repair patterns, and create healthier dynamics at home.

Every session is adapted to the unique needs and goals of the individual or family I’m working with.

It’s an honor to walk alongside you in this work. My hope is that you leave each session feeling supported, understood, and equipped with tools for growth—no matter the season of life you’re in.
